these things happened on Monday

We took a drive out to Forest Hill Cemetery, where we saw the grave sites of Buck O'Neil and Satchel Paige.  Buck was easy to find, in fact he was right next to the visitor's center where we went to ask about how to find Satch.
The nice lady inside (everyone out here is super nice, it's bizzarrrrrrre) told us, "Oh that's easy, he has his own island!"  Seeing Satch's grave was erie, because everything I have read about him makes him feel so alive even thirty years after he died.  It was great to see that people came and left baseballs where he was buried.

On top of that it was really tremendous of Lauren to go out there with me; it takes a special kind of person to spend their day looking for dead baseball players.

After our time at Forest Hill we went to a little place called "The Brick" for lunch, which was comfortable and the food was tasty.  Some homeless people were drinking in there too, which would be unthinkable in Philly, but in Kansas City everybody is super relaxed.

Next we explored downtown a little bit, but we thought we might get into some trouble with the KC parking authority so we dropped in to this pseudo-Whole Foods to buy a peppermint patty and ask the cashier if we were going to get a ticket.  This super-helpful lady told us that she could validate our parking for two hours since we made a purchase (69 cents, roflcopter).

Later that night we went to a show at the Blue Room Jazz Club, which was the busiest place in all of Kansas City.

Other highlights include: I helped some dude push his car,
we went to THE crappiest casino in the world,  GREAT PIZZA (from Grinder's of Diners Drive-Ins and Dives fame).  Also, The Brick was on that show.  Lauren loooooves the food network.
